Feeding the dog by Susan Price

This story is about a witch named Downing. He was a really mean and selfish witch. He had a wife and a lot of children. He'd spent years learning witchcraft. He always protected his children from other people .The deal was if someone hearted or did anything bad to the children, he would throw a curse on that person. So, no one ever got near those children because evryone was too scared of Downing.

One day, some of his children went out to a farm. They started hiting the pigs from that farm with sticks. The owner of that farm was named Hollis. Hollis saw them and got really angry and grabbed one of the children and started hiting him. When the children got home, they told everything to their father. The father got so angry that he decided to throw the most horrible spell he new on Hollis. He created this horrible monster with shiny eyes. Then Downing said to the creature: "Hollis."

The next day Hollis disapeared. He wasn't in his bed anymore. No one found him. At night the monster came back. Downing dind't know what to do. He tried to stand up from his bed, but the monster growled. So he said a name of the lady he saw yesterday. The monster kept on coming back. Donling started running out of names. One night he didn't know what to say. He said: "My wife" The next night he said: My baby" And he kept on saying that until The monster ate all of his children. The monster still came back next night at his bed and Downing...

The story had a bit of suspense but it was too short to be FULL of suspense. The part that had the most suspense was the end... The story had some predictable parts like the ending for example. I liked the message of the story because it tells somethingreally important. That important message is: If you are mean to people then something bad will happen to you. I did not like most of the characters like the witch or the creature because they were mean. I liked the style of writing but it was sometimes conusing.

I would recomend this book to people who like scary stories.

Vicky Angel

This book is about a girl named Jade. Jade had a best friend named Vicky. They were closer than sisters! One day, Vicky got run over by a car and she died in a comma. Jade felt really bad about it and got sick. But something was really strange; Jade started seeing and hearing Vicky! She was the only one who could do that so everyone though she was crazy. Jade could see Vicky doing all sorts of different stuff just like ghosts. She could fly like a ghost, she could go through walls like a ghost, she was invisible like a ghost (Except for Jade that was the only one that could see her.) she acyually became a ghost! From that time, Vicky "Ghost" was always with Jade. She sleped with Jade, she ate with Jade and she went to school with Jade. Jade kind of felt like she was being hounted. Jade was being sick of Vicky. Vicky was making her loose her friends and have bad grades at school.
Until one day...
That book is really great and I would recomend it to the girls age rom age 10.
